Counseling

At Rivermont Schools, licensed professional counselors and social workers provide individual and group therapy to support students' therapeutic needs. Counseling services aim to address emotional and behavioral barriers that impede academic growth and success. Licensed school counselors employ diverse approaches, including assessment, development of student support plans, proactive interventions, and trauma-informed care, to support academic, social, and personal success. As integral members of the multidisciplinary team, they coordinate efforts to boost academic achievements. Counselors address various areas with students, including self-awareness, conflict resolution, independence, accepting differences, bullying, home issues, and academic struggles. When necessary, counselors may refer students to external resources for additional support, promoting community, school and family collaboration.
